The artist will be exhibiting a series of drawings depicting the different manifestations of an imaginary figure dubbed as “chichalamanka”. Acting as entryways into another world, these intuitively created and mythologically inspired works imbue the space with an energy that is both welcoming and slightly haunting. -
“Alternative Poetry”
Kevin Paulsen’s artisitc silhouettes are fashioned as if they are relics of a lost world. Forged from nature and folly and influenced by the emotional poetry of Pablo Neruda, Paulsen’s blending of positivism and mysticism are created into pigment on plaster pieces. “Alternative” poetry will be on display September 10th through the 24th.

Salad Bar
Sebastian Spreng is presenting his new show, Salad Bar, at Kelley Roy Gallery on May 14, 2011. Salad Bar is an installation of 250 small canvases inspired by the American Salad Bar buffet-style concept and its many possibilities and combinations. The series gives his bucolic landscapes, the chance to interact with abstract images as pauses and intervals that create “a woven tapestry of life”

Untamed Rhythms
April 7th- May 7th, Neltje’s Untamed Rhythms will be exhibited at Kelley Roy Gallery. Neither standard art descriptors nor derivative comparisons can properly describe Neltje’s work. Curators have suggested that her inspiration has come from Jon Schueler and Joan Mitchell, but as one learns more about this artist it becomes clear that she is quite unique, in both her approach to art and life.
